Class Evaluation

                                                                       Class Evaluation

1. What I like about this class is that I sit close to my friends. I like the videos that Mr. Haymore shows us because it shows us example of different people choosing the right. I also like learning how to become a better person in this class.
2. What I dislike about this class is that we don't get to walk around class without permission.
3. One recommendation would be letting us walk around the class to go talk to people during free time. We should get free time the last 10 minutes of class.
4. One highlight of the class is when Mr. Haymore does the CTR check with the spinning wheel. Another highlight was when He gave us free time for the whole period.
5. I try to do my best in this class espicailly when we research a topic. This class has easy tasks and I try to complete all my work. I usually stay on task in this class.
6. I am not that committed when it comes to reading my Life planning goals. I try to read it when I have time. I sometimes forget to read it or if i do read it it's really quick. I should try to read my goals so that I can accomplish some.
7. I am not committed to being a CTR person. I try but sometimes i do the wrong things. It is a habit I guess and it's hard to break. I'm usually doing things that I shouldn't.

10 keys to personal power

The 10 Keys to Personal Power
Brian Tracy

Key 1: Clarity
"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know when you're going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for other's who do."
You have to have at least have an idea of what you want to do. It's important because you can start preparing yourself for it. You can prepare yourself and be ready for whatever you want to do. By doing this it will be much easier for you to understand something. It can impact your life and make you a more responsible person. You will improve your time management and become more productive in your time. You become more focused on your work and it becomes really simple for you.

Key 2: Competence
"If you want to commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."
The harder you work the better you will feel after you accomplish it. You need to give it your all and work hard for the things you want. You need to be able to complete all your work and do it efficiently. An example is you being able to play well and you got there by putting in effort. You never give up and try always to perfect something. You get better at it by practicing and always striving to do better. You push yourself to the limit and you don't let anything stop you.
Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself "Is this the best use of my time?" before you start anything."
Use the time that you have wisely. Try to be productive with your time and use the most of it. If you know u have homework do it early so you won't be rushing to finish it later on. If you could finish or accomplish something earlier do it because something may prevent from doing it later on. You need to be able to decide what is important and what is not. You will have to know what's right and wrong. You will need to set your priorities straight. By using your time wisely, you can become successful in life. This is an important rule because it will help you out and stay with you forever.
Key 4: Common sense

  • Train your mind
  • Thinks things through
  • Listen to your tuition
  • Learn from setbacks
Common sense is what many people lack now a days. Common sense is good judgement on something. It's where you decide to whether to do something or not. You go over your choices and decider with yourself. If you failed one time, then you learn from that. Your mistakes help you grow as a person and it makes you better. Common sense is when you do the right thing and avoid doing things you shouldn't. Many people don't really use their common sense and they

Key 5: Creativity
"Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions.
The people who are most creative ask the most questions."

Being creative is important because it shows that your imagination is strong. Being creative is thinking outside the box. Being creative is also good because you can create a new invention that could help out others. You look for new solutions in a problem. You think a lot and you make your brain work hard. All of your ideas are original or you make something that is already created better. Having creativity is important because you could make your life more fun and adventurous

Key 6: Consideration

"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life."
"Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator. Take courses in listening, speaking, etc.
"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you'll be the best educated person in history."
Consideration is when you take the time to think things over for a period of time. You are thinking very carefully about your decision. These are the choices that you have to think over because it's never an easy choice. You have to reflect and think about the consequences if you make a certain decision. You have to reflect on it and think of the effects it will have. This can also mean thinking of how you treat other people with your actions. You actions speak louder then words to people and that is how they will judge you on.

Key 7: Consistency
"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."
"Be consistent in your relationships, your family, Friends, your boss, your work Be the person that people can depend on. That if you say you'll do something you do it."
Being Consistent means that you work at a certain pace without changing. You can show consistency by always doing your homework. Consistency is important because you can get your work done faster. To be consistent means that you have made a plan for yourself and that you are sticking by it without changing you rhythm. Being consistent means working at the same pace for the same amount of time without having to change anything. To be consistent means that you have to be aware consciously. You have to live in the present and do things now not later.

Key 8: Commitment
" No success is possible without commitment. This ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."
"Become totally absorbed in your work. Be totally committed."
Being Committed means sticking with something until the end. You stay doing something and you accomplish it or never turn it down. You stay dedicated to a cause that you believe in. You can also stay committed in a relationship in which you are loyal. You stay loyal to your partner and never do anything you shouldn't. You give your all to something and you put it first before everything else. Being committed is important because it can teach you responsibility. You also improve on time management if you have to do other things and stay committed to whatever you are doing. Some steps to staying committed are getting your goals together and going over them. You need to be able to see what is important and what is not. You need to hold yourself accountable also for your actions.\

Key 9: Courage
"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."
Having courage is important because you stand up for yourself and the things you believe in. Having courage means the stand by yourself doing the right even if everyone is doing the wrong. Courage is important because it helps you grow as an individual. It means standing up to challenges and facing your fears. To have courage means to have a lot of bravery. Doing the things you don't like doing are examples of courage. You could stand up to the bully or ask out your crush. This helps you become more open and it takes away your shyness. By having courage it could also show how to learn from mistakes that have happened.

Key 10: Confidence
"You only got confidence by doing thing over and over again."
Confidence is important because it shows that you believe in yourself. Confidence is relying on your
own abilities and trying your best. Confidence is also having trust in other people to do things. Confidence could also be the state of being certain. This means that you are feeling good about the work that you have completed. Confidence is good but you should never have to over confidence. Over confidence could be bad because it can show your ignorance and you should never put your pride first. Some things to do to raise up your confidence is thinking positive thoughts about yourself. You need to treat yourself better and at times reward yourself. Don't think negatively because that is going to lower your chances of doing things.

Reflection:
The 10 keys to personal power can benefit me by making me a better person. This helps me grow as an individual and i can also help others. It makes me a better person because i need to have confidence in myself to do things. I also have to be consistent with my work as well as behavior.I need to be committed to the things I am doing. I need to show courage when i am doing things. I am applying key number 7 and 8 at the moment. I am staying committed to the clubs that I am in as well being consistent with all the work I am turning in. I am being considerate to the feeling's of others as well as my own. I have good common sense and know right from wrong. I also have good concentration when it comes to class. This has helped have better grades as well as gain trust from the people in the clubs, I will incorporate the other keys by trying new things and being more outgoing. In order to do one key I need to know how to apply all of them together because without one key they won't work as they should be. I will need to revise all of my goals over again and try to improve them and think about them more clearly.

Character and Personality

                                              Character and Personality
What I learned from this video is that your personality is going to change throughout your life, but your character stays the same. That you need to do the most important things first not last. You reflect on yourself and see how you are behaving or acting. You need to act a ctr person for the rest of your life to live a good life. The thing that matter most is having a great character rather than having a great personality. Some people tend to focus on your character because it shows who you truly are. Personality can be cover up or disguise. By doing that you are not being true to yourself. The problem is that people pay more attention to a person;s personality rather than their character.

My Weekend

This weekend I was at my cousin's house celebrating his dad's birthday. Before I went to his house I was at my soccer game. We ended up winning 3-0 and we almost ended up fighting with the other team. After the game was over I stayed to watch ,y cousin Devin play. During 1st half he crashed heads with another player and he was on the floor for a few seconds and he had a bump on his head. We put ice on it and ended up playing and scoring in the last minute. When i got home I took a shower and changed into new clothes. My dad ended up taking me to the party and i was just hanging out with my cousins. We ate food and at night we sang happy birthday to my uncle. The next day my dad was showing me how to drive on an empty street. It was kind of hard at first but then I started getting the hang of it. He taught me how to turn and how to go in reverse I'm still bad at it, but I'm learning

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Habit 1: Be proactive
"Habit is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."
Being proactive means thinking and acting ahead of anticipated events. This is important because it can help you avoid disasters along the road. Being proactive means being able to solve problems instead of dwelling on them. You can be proactive by doing all your work and not waiting until the last minute to do it. Make a plan for yourself by writing what you are going to do and how you are going to accomplish it.

Habit 2:
Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will."(Jack Welch)
"When you know where you intend to end up, you know where you are now."(Covey)
This habit means to start something with a clear understanding of what you are going to do. It means starting to start something while also thinking of the outcome you are going to do. You start off with a clear vision and you start fresh with no problems or worries. if you are having problems or something is wrong you forget about it when you start something new. You start with a blank and open mind. You know what you want to accomplish and you already figured out the steps that you are going to take in order to accomplish it. You try not to think negatively, and only think positively.

Habit 3: Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities"
What this means is that you have to do important things first. You cannot put it aside and wait to do it later. It means doing something that you know you have to do without being told or reminded. It also where you remind yourself you have to do things. You stay organized and accomplish everything you said you were going to do. Having a flexible schedule so that you can get things done. You can accomplish this by having a book where you write your to do lists. You can set yourself reminds on your phones to stay caught up. It's where you can easily notice what's important and what's not.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win
"Think win-win or no deal."
What this means is that when you are doing something you have to think of winning. If you don't that way then you won't try your best. You won't give it your all. W never go into any situation with a losing mentality. If you have a losing mentality then you are never going to go far in life. It also means agreements or solutions. You can keep a candy to yourself or share it with someone and enjoy it as well. We can help others and by helping them we also feel good about ourselves. You don't people others down you help lift them up. You try to do your best as well as helping others do their best.

Habit 5: Seek first to understand, then to be understood
"Diagnose before you prescribe."
What this habit means is that is that you need to seek first to understand something. You have to look for the answers to your problem to be able to understand why it is happening. You need to be able to find the answers on your own. By doing you begin to understand the problem more effectively. You not only learn from this, but it helps you grow as an individual. You can do this by listening to when people are talking, instead of interrupting them. Paying attention to what they say because they might have the answer to your problem.

Habit 6: Synergize
"The whole is greater than the sum of it's part(1+1=3)
Being able to synergize is working well with others. You are very cooperative and work well in teams. You are also open-minded and listen to what others have to say. You love to solve problems and take on any challenge. You are a leader and you help out others and put them first. You don't put people down you help bring them up and strive for greatness.. You put others before yourself and try to be an example for them of what to do or how to act. If
someone gets a wrong answer you help them figure out what wrong and fix their error.

Habit 7: Sharpen the saw
The four dimensions of self-renewal: Physical, mental, Spiritual, Social/emotional.
This means that you need to focus on yourself and improve yourself. It means taking care of yourself and your well being. You eat healthy, exercise, and you are well rested. By doing this you have a well physical body. You also improve yourself by making new friends and interacting with people. You have a good social life. The best way to improve yourself is by reading, writing, and teaching. By doing this you become educated and you educate others. The last way to improve yourself is being able to connect with nature. You meditate and go ino nature and relax. You become better spiritually by doing this.

Reflection: The seven habits of highly effective people is important because it helps you be a better person. You can improve yourself little by little. These are highly effective rules because you get to understand yourself. You can also help other people improve themselves by telling them these rules. These rules well even help you out further in life. They teach you to be a responsible person. You get to understand what's important and what are distractions. You grow as a person and you become more mature and more caring.

My weekend

Over the weekend i played some soccer games and i hung out with cousins. Saturday morning I woke up late and I got dressed for my soccer game. When i arrived the game still hadn't started and I put on my shoes ans shin guards. It was hot and there was no cloud in sight. We started off winning 2-0 and before first half ended they scored on us. I missed a chance to score a header because i hit the ball wrong and it went over. 2nd half started and we ended up scoring 2 more goals. We ended up winning 4-1 and then i went home. I played FIFA 17 with my cousins and then we went out o go eat. Later that night we went to the park to watch my uncle play. He ended up getting injured and we left home early. The next day we went to the park to play with an uncles team. We ended up losing 3-1 and it was unfair.

Six ways to make people like you

How to win friends and influence them

Rule 1: Become genuinely interested in other people
1) "Do this and you will become welcome anywhere."
2) "You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in       two years by trying to get other people interested in you.'
3) "Ask questions to other people, questions that they would enjoy answering."
Being genuine is important because it shows people you are caring. It shows that you put others before. You think of your actions and how it will affect others not only yourself. Being interested into other thongs could also be good for you because you may like the things other people do. You get to meet more people by using this method. It is very effective and more people will want to talk to you.

Rule 2 : Smile
1) " Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, "I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to to see you.
2)"You don't feel like smiling? Then force yourself to smile."
3) "It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign (witness or
      indication) of friends."
Smiling can show people that you are happy and that you are a kind person. It also helps comfort people and they trust you more. Smiling attracts people to you and they will want to talk to you. Also by smiling it shows people that you are okay. If you are having a bad day still smile because you can help someone have a nice day with your smile. It shows people that even if go through tough times you can carry on and be okay. Show them that you are tough and not even a bad day can stop you.

Rule 3: Remember names
1) "A man's name is the sweetest and most important sound in any language."
2) "If you don't remember names, you are headed for trouble."
By remembering someone's name it shows that you pay attention to them. That you actually care about them and that they are important to you. That you actually took the time to remember their name even if you barely know each other. You can make someone happy by knowing their name because it shows what kind of person you are. It also shows that you have good memory and that you remember things.

Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
1). "If you aspire to be good conversationalist, be an attentive listener."
2). "Remember that the man you are talking to is a hundred more times more interested in himself              and his wants and his problems than he is in you and your problems."
By being a good listener you get to know a person and who they really are. You get to know their personality and their likes and dislikes. You can hear about their experiences and their hobbies. You can hear the problems they're going through and try to help them out. Plus some people have a bad day and they like the talk about their day and a get all the stress off their chest.

Rule 5: Talk in terms of the other man's interest.
"The royal road to a man's heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most."
You can become someone's friend by talking about the things they like. It shows that you actually paid attention to the things they said. It shows that you really want to get to know that person. You take the time to talk and listen to them about the things that they like. It shows that you are a open minded person because you might not like some of their stuff. You can also get to like their stuff if you give it a chance.

Rule 6: Make the other person feel important --and do it sincerely
"The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human nature." (John Dewey) "Helping people feel important and appreciated works magic."
By making someone feel appreciated you make them feel better about themselves. You make them feel important about themselves and you gain more self esteem. You give them hope in the darkest days. You can also give them a reason to carry on and keep on going. You get them fired and they on fighting and making a difference. They lose their fear and they become more courageous. By doing this they can also teach a thing or two and they can make you a better person. You can also feel good making others feel good because you know you made a difference.

Final Reflection: Write overall final reflection in this post regarding the "Six Ways To Make People Like You".Include your deepest thoughts and feelings. Write what you commit to do to apply the Six rules
The six ways are important because it helps us make new friends and improve relationships we have with others. It teaches you to think of others and make them feel good about themselves. You get to listen to new ideas and you get hear new things. It helps you become open minded and you improve your listening skills. I will do this by talking to someone I haven't talked to and just try to make conversation with them. I will listen to them and try to give some advice if they need it. Try to listen to the things they like and ask questions about it.

Black Lives Matter

Black Lives Matter is a national organization working for validity for black lives. It was created in 2012 when George Zimmerman murdered Trayvon Martins. This organization tires to help African Americans from the police killings. They also try to help other ethnicity's as well as those who are judged, or even disabled. This will also organized because people felt powerless at the hands of the state. How 2.8 million African Americans are locked in cages in the country because of state violence. They are working on how Black peoples lives won't be targeted systemically or intentionally. I believe that they are doing a great job because they are standing for people who have been hurt and are treated differently because of their skin color.

Drake

                                  Draking it

Draking it is when you are emotionally, sad, depressed, lonely and miserable. It usually happens when you miss your ex. You feel lost without them.
This has been happening a lot lately to many people at school. Some people also say it as a joke when they are with their friends.

The 6 attitudes of high achievers

Peak Performance Principles.                             "The Six attitudes of high Achievers."

John R. Noe
"The six Attitudes of High Achievers"
                                                                          High Achievers

1. Male no small plans means that you should go for it. You shouldn't go all small, to try and give it your all. You should go big or go home. You shouldn't set yourself for a small bar you should aim higher. You can't set yourself up for failure because  you'll never achieve anything in life with that mentality. Always keep yourself busy and try to accomplish as much stuff as possible.

2. Do what they fear means dong the things they are afraid of. Many people are scared of being out going because they are scared of being rejected. It can also mean taking risks because in order to accomplish things you need to be able to lose stuff. Sometimes you have to go all in and you have to risk losing things.

3. Are willing to prepare means that you are willing to do anything knowing the risks. This is what some people specialize in because they face their fears and they become brave. This is where people truly get to be free from their fears. Also it's when you have to make the hardest decisions because you not only think of yourself but other people. You have to think of your consequences and how they will affect people. Are willing to means that you are following and doing what you believe is right even if it seems wring to others. You have to be ready and set yourself up in order to succeed. You have to be prepared for anything that comes up.

4. Are willing to risk failure means that you are going for it all. You will risk everything just to win or accomplish something. In order to be successful you need to take risks. By taking risks you can lose a lot, but you can also gain a lot more. You need to be a risk taker because there are times in life where you need to take a risk for the better. You also lose fear by doing this at times you won't feel regret saying i should have done this instead. If you take a risk and you fail don't give up because you just learned an important lesson that day and also you see what went wrong so you won't make the same mistake next time.

 5. Are teachable means to be able to comprehend what someone is telling you. You understand what you are being told or you understand what you are being shown. You can have a flexible schedule to understand people. You can be respectful to the person's idea and listen to them even though you don't agree with what they are saying. you can learn what they taught you and you can go and teach someone else. You have a full understanding of the topic and you can be considered a master and you can teach it thoroughly.

6. Have heart means that if you do something you think of the consequences and how it will affect people. You put others before yourself. You will try to do the best you can for somebody. You will stand for the things you believe in even though others don't agree with you. You won't coward away and you'll face the punishments. You show kindness to other people and you try to help them out. You do things that are right and if you see something bad happening you go and try to solve the problem. If you see someone in pain you won't turn them away, you'll try to help them out.

Ways to be

9 Ways to be Happy and Make something of your life
Gordon B. Hinckley

                       1). Be Grateful
One way to be grateful is to appreciate the things in life. You could tell your parents thank you every morning and they tell them you appreciate the things they done for you. You can thank your teachers for helping you out when you needed it. Enjoy your life because even though it's not the best you still have it better than others. Don't start feeling bad for yourself because that isn't going to change anything you have to make changes so that you won't feel like that again. You have to be honest with yourself in order to be happy. Having gratitude makes us see different perspectives, so you see how others' feel or are affected. Having gratitude it makes you want less and appreciate the stuff you already have. Gratitude helps you reduce stress because it makes us happier. You build better relationships with people because you appreciate them and yourself. I show gratefulness by helping out my parents around the house. I tell them that I appreciate all that they do for me by sacrificing their time and energy so I could have a good life. The quote "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark of another person, Each one of us ha cause to think deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us." means that when you give up they're is always going to be a person that encourages you and gives you hope to carry on.

\Being smart is very helpful because you can see between right and wrong. Being smart will help you succeed in life. You will be seen as very mature and responsible. Being involved in good works means you are doing what's right. It's helping out your community even if you contribute a little. Being involved in good works means choosing the right, not doing drugs with friends or doing anything you are not supposed to be doing. You could help out around your school by helping out teachers and help fund raise events. Even the smallest things could have a big impact in someone's life. Good works are done by many people around the world. Doing good works means that you put others before yourself. You don't only think for yourself, you think in how your actions will affect others. You want to be a person that people could look up to not a bad example. The quote" Good works do not make a good man, but a good man does good work" means that a person shouldn't do something good to be seen as good but do it because it's the right thing to do.

                             4). Be Clean
One way to keep yourself clean is to take a shower with shampoo and soap. Another way is brushing your teeth. Being clean means that you are truthful to yourself, as well as to others. Being clean means staying away from drugs and never using them. Keeping your body and mind safe from harm and doing whats right. They are different ways in being clean like mentally and physically. Being cleaned mentally means getting rid of your distractions or try to forget about your problems for now and deal with them later. You can also write in a journal about your thoughts, feelings, or other stuff. If you are holding a grudge towards someone you need to let it go because that is not healthy for your body and by doing this you can focus your time on other things. Being nice is another example of cleaning yourself because you help someone out and you just feel good helping them. "Everyone deserves a chance to clean up their messes." This means that everyone deserves a second chance because we all make mistakes and that's what makes us human.

                          5). Be True
Being true is being honest to yourself and to the people around you. You could also be loyal to your friends, families, and teams that you are in. You could cherish friendships that you have by telling them the truth and being honest to them. You can also let go of hate and forgive those who have hurt you. Life is short so why waste some your life angry at happen when you could be doing other things with your time. You could take responsibility of your actions because you made the mistake or problem and you got to be the one that fixes it. You have to think kindly of yourself. By doing this you're building your self-esteem and it helps you grow as person. When you start loving yourself then you become a more out going person.

Being positive means having good thoughts. You always aim to do your best. Thinking negatively does not help you it just brings you down. Being positive means looking at something that' negative and looking at the positive things that came out of it. You can be positive by having time to yourself. This way you look at all your problems and clear your head. You can also spend time with your family and friends and just relax and talk to them. Try to take things slowly because if you start rushing thongs then you stress yourself out causing negative thoughts. Being positive could also mean having a good physical body and mind. Being humble means being respectful to others. being nice and kind-hearten to other people even of you don't know them. If you beat someone don't rub it in or boast about it just be proud of what you accomplished, or even better go congratulate them and console them. You can also be humble by admitting that you are not the best at something it means that you are human. You could know your limitations and see what you are good at and what you are not. You have to be able to focus on the stuff that you are not good and be able to say that you are not good at it. You could be grateful for what you have and not focus on what you don't have. You are going to be an out-goer meaning that you will have to mistakes and that's how you'll from it and grow as a person.
"To much ego will kill your talent." means that you go around boasting because people won't like you and you end up being a bad player.

                                                   8). Be still
Being still means just staying still and relaxing. Just taking the time to think about all your problems and clearing your mind. Doing nothing is the the most productive thing that you will undertake. Being still is very difficult because there are noises all around you so you are mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. In order to find yourself you need to have silence ti really think. Being still  helps you stay connected with yourself. Being still can also mean to some people holding on to the past and they just need to let it go and look towards the future. Many people have said that being still is very hard to master and at times it can be frustrating, but the whole outcome is worth it.

                                                               9). Be Prayerful

                                                              Reflection
My final reflection on the the 9 ways post is that that you have to do a lot of things to be happy and it could be hard for some people. Plus many people have broken some of these rules many times a without even knowing. I feel like the 9 Ways is a good example, but it's not for me because I feel I'll never get to do that cause of the person who I am. The good things about is that you can help spread these thoughts to other people and help them live a better life. You can commit to these thoughts by reminding yourself each day and striving to do good.

The 9 ways concluding words by Gordon B. Hinckley
"There there are, mine Be's which, if observed will bring handsome dividends to any young or woman. They will add sparkle to your days and peace to your nights. They will save you from heartache and pain. They will bring purpose into your life and give direction to your energies.
They will bring you friends of your own kind. They will protect you from associations that would pull  you down and deflect you from your course.
This is a time to be happy. This is a time to feel joy and make friends and enjoy the best this life has to offer. What I have tried to put forth.... are simply a few suggestions, gained from many years of living, to help you do just that. The world will tell that certain kinds of things will bring you happiness-things such as popularity and possessions and satisfying your baser desires.
If today you find yourself only drifting as a leaf in a stream, get hold of yourself and determine you will do better.
At railroad grade crossings, signs and warning were once common. Two cross arms were emblazoned with the words, " Stop, Look, Listen." They meant that a train could be roaring down the tracks and you had better be alert.
I was riding a train on the Midwest years ago. I looked out the window to my left. A road ran parallel to the tracks. A car with a boy and a girl were speeding down the road a little faster than the train. The car moved ahead until I can no longer see it. Suddenly, the locomotive whistle sounded and the train screeched to a halt as the brakes gripped through the wheels. We looked out the window on to the other side. There was a mangled car. Police cars soon converged, followed by the ambulance. The boy and girl were dead. The road they were traveling crossed the tracks. They did not stop, look, or listen. It all happen in an instant.
The better way to be is the way of these nine Be's
The years will inevitably pass and, pass quickly. Today is your day of resolution. Promise yourself to make something good of (your) precious life."
